Bryan Babcock is a cutting-edge winemaker named by the Los Angeles Times as one of the “Ten Best Winemakers of the Year” and voted “Most Courageous Winemaker of the Year.” Part of his bold and daring reputation stems from his outspoken embrace of liberty and the ideas put forth by Ayn Rand. “I don’t walk around thinking about Ayn Rand, John Galt, or Atlas Shrugged every second of the day, thinking about how I can make this [vineyard] be like Galt’s Gulch. But if it was Galt’s Gulch, the government would not be permitted to take one step on the property,” says Babcock. “John Galt is the guy in fiction that Patrick Henry [was in] real life….And the world needs a few of those. The world needs an Atlas to hold up the globe. The world needs a John Galt or a Patrick Henry to say, ‘Freedom is a good thing, man needs freedom, we’ve got to be free.’” Approximately 10 minutes. Ah, but California capitalists aren’t rare. There are LOTS of them. It’s just that none of them run for/get elected to office. Why, because governing doesn’t create value, it can only destroy value.

This is a beautiful video. But he’s wrong… the world doesn’t need an Atlas holding up the world… the world needs a guy, holding up a barrel of wine. Next to another guy, holding up a bag of produce, next to yet another guy, holding up a telephone, followed by some other guy, holding up a pair of sneakers…

But, like I said, this is a beautiful video. California capitalists are a rare, take-capitalism-for-granted type of personality, and they need every bit of suppor they can get!

I am inspired to not give up in doing my part in the fight for freedom. The natural state of human beings is freedom. We are attracted to nature because these days this is the closest some of us can have the experience of freedom. Too many regulations and impositions in the name of the masses…

Unfortunately, there will never be freedom when there are a bunch of people running around sanctioned by society with the right to the initiation of the use of force (IUF).

IUF is violence. It is a fallacy to think that virtue can come from violence.

It is a fallacy to think that social issues can be solved with violence.

Only chaos and destruction can come from IUF.
